Drilling Rig In Hotta
One of the many Drilling rigs in Saudi Arabia. This was taken in Hotta, 300KM from Riyadh. Saudi Arabia is the biggest oil producing country. This particular rig is the heavy type capable of drilling very deep for the more challenging oil or gas discoveries
On a whim I drove up to this rig while it was drilling just west of Elk City, Oklahoma and ask for permission to photography for stock photo purchases. The "driller" ok'd my request, but required that I stay off of the rig without permission from home office. I was also required to wear a hard hat and steel-toed boots. I was new to digital photography, and a bit clumsy as I worked. But, I got some decent shots, and I believe I can make them better now that my Photoshop work improving.
